Preparing for your Social Security Hearing
Preparing for your social security Hearing When people apply for social security Disability, they get two tries before the hearing: the initial application and the reconsideration. If they are turned down on both attempts, they can go to a hearing. The hearing is the first chance that the claimant has to talk face to face with a decision maker, the Judge. social security hearings are different than most other court processes. “Preparing for your social security Hearing” was produced to show claimants what to expect and how to behave in a social security hearing.
Part I - This 18-minute section gives a brief overview of a hearing, a description of the participants and some pointers for preparation for the hearing.
Part II - This 17-minute segment provides practice in answering questions. Part II presents a judge asking questions typically asked in a social security hearing. This part of the video can be stopped after each question so that the claimant can practice answering questions.
Customer Review: Review of Preparing for Soc Sec Hearings
As an individual who frequently has to work with individuals preparing for a social security Hearing, I find this video invaluable as an overview of the social security hearing process. After viewing the video clients feel confident of the hearing procedure and are less apprehensive toward their court appearance. Mr. Kranitz should be congratulated in taking the time to prepare such a through presentation. Highly recommended.
