Medicare is a governmental program which provides medical insurance coverage for retired persons over age 65 or for others who meet certain medical conditions, such as having a disability.

Medicare was signed into legislation in 1965 as an amendment to the Social Security program and is administered by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) under the Department of Human Services.

Medicare provides medical insurance coverage for over 43 million Americans, many of whom would have no medical insurance. While not perfect, the Medicare program offers these millions of people relatively low cost basic insurance, but not much in the way of preventative care. For instance, Medicare does not pay for an annual physical, vision care or dental care.

Medicare is paid for through payroll tax deductions (FICA) equal to 2.9% of wages; the employee pays half and the employer pays half.

There are four “parts” to Medicare: Part A is hospital coverage, Part B is medical insurance, Part C is supplemental coverage and Part D is prescription insurance. Parts C and D are at an added cost and are not required. Neither Part A nor B pays 100% of medical costs; there is usually a premium, co-pay and a deductible. Some low-income people quality for Medicaid, which assists in paying part of or all of the out-of-pocket costs.

Because more people are retiring and become eligible for Medicare at a faster rate than people are paying into the system, it has been predicted that the system will run out of money by 2018. Health care costs have risen dramatically, which adds to the financial woes of Medicare and the system has bee plagued by fraud over the years.

No one seems to have a viable solution to save this system that saves many people throughout the country.

Opening Introduction for This is England

This Is England has an opening scene that catches the viewers eye. Very much like Dazed and Confused, as well as Detroit Rock City, the movie begins with a non-conformist history video. The music that plays is 54-46 Was My Number – Toots & The Maytals. There is spraypaint on the walls thanks to rebellion and images of love and British culture. Grassroots activists rebel to demand socialized medicare while clips later you can see severe consequences of brawls in pubs. This movie sets a young boy meeting a group of socialist skinheads who is confronted by other skinheads with a nationalist ideology. Skins are a uniquely post war British working class culture with multicultural elements. Spraypaint supporting the National Front compliments the images of British defenders of liberty, defending British democracy in the Falkland War between Argentina and Britain in the gorgeous year for rebelling in 1982. There is an interesting moving image of Margaret Thatcher on a naval submarine that leads into quick information that Britain has Ronald Reagan’s support and also a clip of the Prime Minister looking sharp. I let the few minutes of the film continue to get the audience to have an interest in the film and develop some love for the for the young leading male, Shaun. This is England is very popular and we respect the actors and directors efforts very much. Here is a link to the movie’s soundtrack for youth who are interested in becoming pro-nationalist or unity based politicians

Introduction to Social Security

In order to address the routine concerns of many, regarding the payment of bills post-retirement or disability, a federal benefits program was designed in the United States, in 1935, known as the Social Securities Act. The program known as the social security program provides disability, retirement, unemployment and survivor benefits and Medicare. The benefits offered aim at providing financial support to the citizens of the U.S., who fall under the categories specified within the paradigms of the program.

The Social Security Act of 1935 introduced the social security system in the US. The system caters to the financial needs of the retired citizens, who have contributed to the social security trust fund for at least 10 years. It also provides benefits to the survivors, in event of the employee’s death. The other benefits offered cover disability and unemployment.

It is essential for the person to make the regular required contribution to the Social Security Trust Funds through the payroll taxes, to be eligible. By virtue of the provisions of the Federal Insurance Contributions Act or FICA, every worker’s income is subject to a tax payment of 12.4% on the first $94,200 earned during the year. Half of this amount or 6.2% is paid by the employer, while the other 6.2% is deducted from the salary of the employee. The amount is given to the government. Self-employed people are responsible for paying the full 12.4%. This amount is used fund the social security system.

The system has been designed to benefit those who make the necessary contributions for a period of ten years. There is a credit system incorporated in the scheme and you can earn a maximum of four credits per year. This means that irrespective of the higher limit of your actual earnings and consequently the quantum of your contribution to the fund, your earnings would entitle you to receive four credits.

The amount of the monthly social security check that you would receive after retirement would be calculated on the basis of your 35 highest income-generating years. You need to apply, to start receiving you social security benefits. The best time to do this would be a few months before your actual retirement date.

The social security program attempts to pay the retired citizens a pre-determined sum of money, to cover their basic needs. It works as a kind of insurance for the retired people, helping them to cope with financial difficulties, post-retirement.

It is a form of insurance that covers the surviving spouse and children, in case of the employee’s death. If the spouse is between 62 to 65 years, 70 to 99 percent of the benefits are payable. Dependent parents and unmarried children under 18 years are entitled to receive the benefits too.

Disability that prevents employment opportunity is also considered for benefits under the social security system. Physical and mental disabilities are also covered and the payment starts five months after proving the disability to the authorities.

Under the social security system, unemployment benefits are available to those whose unemployment is due to circumstances beyond their control. The program is designed to provide financial relief to the citizens of the U.S. at crucial times.

An Introduction to Medicaid NH Insurance

In order to qualify for the comprehensive insurance option of Medicaid NH, the New Hampshire residents must prove that they’ve sufficiently low income and minimal assets to match the Medicaid NH guidelines, and they’ll also have to fit within one of the additional eligibility segments which cover pregnancy, disability, minor status for children under the age of nineteen, and several other conditions.  All of the different regional Medicaid systems (including Medicaid NH) are often confused with Medicare, but that insurance plan’s organized upon a national basis for all Americans 65 or older.

While Medicaid NH does extend to our most honored citizens, seniors intending to utilize the state program will still have to fill out an application and demonstrate a lack of financial wherewithal to afford their own insurance providers.  The Medicaid NH paperwork and accompanying documentation of earnings and bank statements must not be taken lightly, especially since the state regulations regarding eligibility will often change without much notice, but, should they honestly answer every question and supply evidence as needed, all New Hampshire citizens that truly need assistance will be able to make their way through the system.

Under the Medicaid NH program, patients won’t themselves receive any money, but they’ll have an insurance card and policy number under Medicare NH which will allow the doctors and hospitals involved in the program to bill the state directly.  This last part is an important element of Medicaid NH which could too easily be overlooked by those men and women who’ve already spent so much time and effort obtaining access to the program.

Medicaid NH health care could only be utilized at hospitals (and with medical professionals) that have not only been approved by the state authorization board but also have chosen to accept Medicaid NH as a payment source, with all of the superfluous forms and forcibly limited monetary caps for various procedures that Medicaid NH entails. Once again, Medicaid NH will not be available for everyone, regardless of their monetary difficulties.

Owing to larger state budgetary crises, the Medicaid NH program has been solely designated to aid the relatively impoverished members of several groups that our government has determined to be at greater risk: senior citizens, foster home children, residents of a skilled nursing facility, the legally blind, the severely disabled, the pregnant, and those men and women who have not worked for over four years.  A separate NH Medicaid program known as Healthy Kids Gold has been set in place for children whose parents earn slightly more than the NH Medicaid guidelines and whose insurance claims would ordinarily be denied, but, while the coverage shall be far less expensive than that offered by private insurance companies, it will contain a monthly premium unlike the typical NH Medicaid plan.

NH Medicaid applications are available at any of the twelve New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services located throughout the state, and the amount of time that it takes for the case workers within DHHS to process and approve NH Medicaid petitions will depend entirely upon the qualifying conditions.  NH Medicaid disability applications, for example, will take at least three months for formal judgments to be handed down.  Some NH Medicaid claimants will even have to supply further medical data after that date and, in the most extreme circumstances, even go through a physical or mental examination to satisfy the state analysts.

There’s such an overwhelming amount of variables regarding all of the NH Medicaid qualifications that, much as every interested New Hampshire resident should do the proper amount of research over the internet, they’ll ultimately still have to file the paperwork and see what the state office recommends.

Medicaid is your right. You may be wondering about eligibility for Medicaid. The good news is that today it is now possible to apply for Medicaid online. Amen to that.
